Billboard Feature, New Ad Campaigns This week's Billboard Magazine includes a feature on Hem and on music of ours that is being used in a new round of Liberty Mutual T.V. spots. It's a good read about a good working relationship, and you can check it out by clicking the thumbnail below.
The songs themselves, a different track on each of four new spots that began airing last week, may have already begun to make their way to you, but as soon as we finish the mixes of the full-length versions (this weekend!), we'll be posting all four in their entirety for free download on our website. Stay tuned...
Hem, Holidays & Starbucks December 6, 2007
Hem's cover of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is in some very distinguished company on a new Starbucks holiday CD. It's a great compilation and you can get it here or at Starbucks, which can't possibly be that far from where you are now.
*UPDATED SET TIMES* Hem & April Smith October 31, 2007
We're pleased to announce that April Smith is going to be joining us to kick off the show at the Highline Ballroom on Saturday. Gary's worked on her records some in the past, and the rest of us have become fast fans... You can check out her myspace page here.
Pass the word to any NY'ers you know and like, as this is our only scheduled show before heading back into the studio. Doors are at 6, April at 8, Hem at 9 (note that these set times are later than those initially posted). Ticket info is here. Thank you --
Hem song on "For The Kids Three!" -- out now Hem's brand new song "No Hiding Place" is out now on For The Kids Three!, the highly-anticipated third installment of the popular For The Kids series. The album is a collection of classic and original children's songs performed by a bunch of great artists, too many to mention (but click here for more info...).
A portion of the proceeds in the US will benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a music education and outreach organization.
Thanks very much to all who came out to hear us last week. The Boston Pops shows were breathtaking for us -- it was a tremendous thrill and honor to play in such company, and it sounded FANTASTIC (at least from where we sat). A band could sure get used to such a place, such a sound... There are some photos up and more to come at All About Hem. And the house concert in Freehold was a great way to wrap the week up -- a lazy Sunday afternoon with Hem fans filling a sunny li'l studio, and then kick-ass potluckery to follow. Yum. Thanks to all who came, and to our gracious hosts: the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Costanzos.
Oh My: Hem with the Boston Pops June 26 & 27! June 13, 2007
This is serious stuff: in 13 short days, Hem (that's eight of us) and the Boston Pops (that's ninety of them) will be appearing in Boston's Symphony Hall, one the very finest concert halls in the entire world. The band is thrilled, like truly beside ourselves -- this is a singular opportunity to take to the stage with some of the orchestral ideas that have anchored our recordings for years, and a chance to try some brand new things out, too, in a truly expansive setting. More information will follow very soon, but in the meantime, you can purchase tickets to the two (2!) nights at 888-266-1200.
This is a really exciting moment for the band, and it's nigh upon us -- spread the word and then book your tickets to Boston!

On the topic of musicians who completely awe and inspire us, and who are showing some kindness to Hem (see also the Lucinda entry), check THIS out. And it's almost spooky how many of these songs are tour-van ipod favorites of ours...
And the winner is.... Thanks to everyone who submitted entries for the t-shirt contest...all of them were so great, it was hard to pick just one winner. SO we ended up with two winning t-shirts!
Thanks again to everyone who participated...we were amazed to see the number of incredibly talented fans.
